Vocational rehabilitation, which is also known as VOC rehab or VR, is a process that allows individuals with psychological, functional, cognitive, emotional, and developmental disabilities to overcome the challenges of accessing, returning, or maintaining employment or other vital positions. Voc Rehab is a program that helps to restore disabled persons to their optimal mental, physical, vocational, social, and economic ability.

From a legal point of view, vocational rehabilitation is the compensation benefit of a worker in certain states, and it involves programs specially created for employees who are no longer mentally or physically fit to hold the same position that they have been holding before the disability.

Most VOC rehab programs are designed to help affected persons to receive training for a new occupation, retain jobs, locate jobs, and create permanent careers. Several steps are involved in the delivery of VR services, including physical and mental restoration, counseling and guidance, job placement, training, as well as post-employment services.

VR clients are usually referred to rehabilitation agencies by welfare agencies, hospitals, schools, and other organizations or agencies. Vocational rehabilitation services can require contributions from a variety of healthcare professionals as well as non-medical practitioners like career counselors and disability employment advisors.
